Energy for change has many sources. Which will you choose?
We are a driving force in the wind energy sector throughout Germany. On land. On water. And for the benefit of the future – including perhaps your future career.
The sun also works for us. We want to expand solar energy capacity in Germany and beyond by 2025. This will also benefit biodiversity – because our solar parks are designed in a way that allows flora and fauna to thrive.
There is a tradition of working with hydropower at EnBW. We have been relying on it for over one hundred years. At present, we have 67 hydropower plants in Baden-Württemberg – and a growing number outside Germany.
We obtain bioenergy and even fuel from plants, biowaste, wood and slurry. As Baden-Württemberg’s largest biogas producer and employer, this is done in formidable style – with up to 160 million kWh annually.
99% of our planet is hotter than 1,000°C – offering huge energy potential. That is why we have been tapping geothermal energy for a number of years as an alternative, climate-friendly energy source that produces virtually no carbon emissions.
What we offer you
What your colleagues have to say
The energy transition is not just a technical or economic project to me but also a moral obligation to our environment and future generations. It is our responsibility to find sustainable solutions. As a project developer in the field of PV, I not only identify suitable sites for the development of solar parks but also work together closely with local authorities, municipalities and other stakeholders to successfully complete the approval processes and coordinate the development of the project from the planning stage through to its implementation. On-site visits to future energy sites make my everyday work extremely varied.
I started my career at EnBW three years ago as a works student during my master’s degree. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work on large projects and make my contribution to the energy transition. I am currently a consultant for the operation of offshore wind farms and my work entails monitoring our wind farms and analyzing and optimizing their operational processes. The work is exciting, varied and very fulfilling thanks to the cooperation with a highly motivated team of people.
My career at EnBW began by me completing my master’s thesis here, which helped me secure a full-time job. Today, I work in Offshore Wind Operations and am responsible for the primary technology in our offshore wind farms in the North Sea and Baltic Sea. This includes planning maintenance work and special campaigns, as well as evaluating anomalies and errors. EnBW offers me lots of flexibility and the opportunity to learn something new every day and to constantly expand my knowledge in the field of energy generation.
Outstanding prospects for you – and the world
We are investing particularly heavily in expanding renewable energy capacity: By 2025, we will have spent four billion euros on projects focused on securing 50% of our generation capacity solely from renewable energy sources. Our aim here is to be fully climate-neutral by 2035 – five years ahead of the legal requirement. This also means all kinds of interesting jobs that really make an impact.
