Professional development
Our employees are entitled to 30 days of contractual vacation per calendar year. Additionally, the 24th of December (Christmas Eve) and the 31st of December (New Year's Eve) are non-working days. Bridge days are defined by the employer and can be taken by the employees freely, taking into account operational interests. The missed working hours are individually credited to the working time account or deducted from the vacation balance.

At the major oder: main locations of EnBW companies, we run company restaurants for the culinary needs of our employees. The diverse and healthy menus are significantly discounted for EnBW employees. If there is no company restaurant on site, a meal allowance is granted for meals at contracted restaurants.

Our employees have the option of salary conversion through a direct insurance policy or pension fund (based on the tax-related salary conversion according to § 3 No. 63 Income Tax Act). In this regard, due to framework agreements between EnBW and various insurance providers, there are attractive special conditions available. Furthermore, within the scope of salary conversion, a so-called pension capital can be built up with an attractive interest rate.

Depending on the location, there is a wide range of sports to choose from, such as badminton, basketball, running, cycling, rowing, diving, climbing, volleyball, table tennis, dancing or Qigong. The sports groups are financially supported and offer the opportunity not only to do something good for yourself, but also to get to know other employees in a relaxed atmosphere. Whether due to business appointments, long commutes or the demands of household, family and work - many people have little time for laundry at home or additional trips to the dry cleaner. With the "Persil Service", EnBW offers a convenient and time-saving alternative at affordable rates. Employees can hand in their laundry at the service stations in Karlsruhe and EnBW City and receive it back washed and ironed after a few days.

If your childcare or children’s school is cancelled at the last minute, you can simply bring them to work with you. We have set up “family offices” at our locations in Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Esslingen, Biberach, Tuttlingen, and Neckarwestheim for this purpose: with space for children to play as well as fully equipped PC workstations.

We are happy to help you with organizational issues regarding topics such as childcare, parental leave, daycare, or offers during the summer holidays. Furthermore, we also offer help in emergency situations, for example by making it easy for you to find alternative childcare, and, depending on availability, we offer spots at daycares at our Stuttgart and Karlsruhe locations. We offer childcare for children age 0–3 at our location in Biberach.
