Peter Heydecker
Member of the EnBW Board of Management / Chief Operating Officer - Sustainable Generation Infrastructure
Peter Heydecker was born on 5 December 1966 in Olten, Switzerland. After graduating with a degree in electrical engineering from Biel University of Applied Sciences in 1991, he embarked on his career at Atel AG in Olten, where he initially worked as a dispatcher in the grid control center before being promoted to Head of Trading in 1995. In 1998, he completed the Management Leadership Program at St. Gallen Management and Business School.
From 1999, he worked at Enron Europe in London, where his last role was Director of Continental Power Trading. In 2001, Peter Heydecker moved to Hess Energy Trading Company in London as Head of Southern European Power Trading & Origination. At EOS in Lausanne he held various specialist and management positions between 2003 and 2009, including Head of Trading & Sales and – from 2006 – as a member of the Board of Management. He then took over as Head of Trading & Services at ALPIQ AG in Olten until 2012 and was also a member of the Board of Management. Between 2012 and 2017, he worked at Vitol AG in Geneva, where he held the position of Head of European Power, among others.
Peter Heydecker has been working at EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG since 2017, initially as Head of International Energy Trading and since May 2024 as a member of the Board of Management and Chief Operating Officer for Sustainable Generation Infrastructure. He is thus responsible for all matters relating to generation and trading. His remit includes the operation and expansion of renewable and conventional power plants, trading and the dismantling of nuclear power plants.
